It would only be one 1/4" hole per gauge for a grommet and wires/tubing. Inspection holes in cages are bigger than that!
The tube for the gauge gets a matching notch for the cage’s tuning outside dia and gets welded on facing driver. If it were a straight race car looking interior that would be the way to go.
