How long does a domain name last? If I want a barebones site how much are operating costs? Can I have a site that just has information and photos? No linking/ordering provisions. ---

No linking/ordering provisions. Domain names are usually purchased per year. With hosting you can get a domain name for probably around $20 depending on your needs. You can have a site with nothing on it if you really want. What you might want to do, if you lack HTML/CSS/etc. skills, is get a [wordpress.com](http://wordpress.com) site going (.Org will cost you more with hosting) and just link it to the domain name. So instead of [LUKELsSexytime.wordpress.com](http://LUKELsSexytime.wordpress.com) you could have [LukeLSexyTime.com](http://LukeLSexyTime.com) \ Also if you want any sort of traffic or marketing with your site, make the domain name easy. The shorter the easier to remember for users. Don’t fucking hyphenate it, don’t do the whole thing in flash, optimize images, etc. ---

Shit, I hope no one takes my domain name now!!! LOL. I was wanting to make a site to show my past and present LED/Electronic services. Sort of like advertising. But, then list my email if they want the service. ---
