hey guys, im devon. ive been through a lot of shit, ups and downs with my car, and im just gonna cut to the chase. bought in july 2011, had typical headgasket leak, 97000 miles, 5spd, 02 bugeye. decided to go big and do cams and some headwork while the heads were off. lots of other goodies too in the mod lost.

after a few weeks, some insurance, and some summer work money i was able to pick of this guy.

after a few more weeks, i finally got around to swapping the suspension, rims and tires, steering wheel, headlights, stereo, and a few other miscellaneous items. about a month after that, my buddy helped me pull the motor in my white car, and my new car, and put my built motor into my blue car. so now the blue car sits about the exact same as the white except for color, and short shifter and bushings i still need to swap. also, i sold the old motor, rims, and other stuff and just about broke even with what i had to spend out of pocket for her 🙂

all in all, its really shitty i lost the white car, but her heartbeat will live on, and ill just have to chalk it up on the board of mistakes, and learn from it.

holy shit i havent updated this in a while…so heres some updates!

well a few updates i guess…got my rally armours and roof racks over the summer, also got a new (used) uel header that is in great condition, wrapped and sprayed it, and got a DRT components skid plate! although i want to weld on a piece on the tail end of the skid plate so it covers a lil more of the underneath of the car. but heres some pics over the past few months

then theyres my lapse between this update and the next update…

alright so update…i busted a coolant line…the freakin metal one right above the knock sensor! :facepalm: took me JB weld, a tiny piece of hose spliced over it, a hose clamp, some busted knuckles, and about an hour and a half in potsdams -20 degree freezing fukin weather…(was more like 0 that day…BUT STILLL) and made it for a couple weeks, and after 2 bottles of coolant and 200 miles home, i finally was able to get her to my dads shop and get her fixed.

other than that, my high flow cat has a leak so im gonna get a resonated test pipe. other than that, just got my summer wheels back on spring break. dont think theres too much else ive done with her. just driving and enjoying! heres some pics

also, a couple months ago i hit 153,000 miles…exactly 50,000 miles since the engine build 😃 also since i am now at 157,000 and had 4,000 on the motor of the blue car before the swap, i am now 61,000 miles driving this beast. (i consider the white and blue one the same car. they are exactly the same except the shift knob and the color) i can’t imagine having a more awesome experience for a “first” car.

this was after driving to my buddies on a less than 20 mile round trip…as you can see in the pic, (look behind the tires) a dusting at my house. at my buddies? snowing sideways and couldnt see 20 ft in head of you. the sides of my car were practically snowless o.O
