So about 18 Months ago my mom bought a new 2006 Cobalt from Paddock. Last week the CEL come on, so she just got the chance to take it in today. This is what she came out with…

Should a 2006 with 15K on be having these issues? The last two codes are because of the Alarm/Remote Start.

that is shitty. you should have knonw better than to let family buy a cobalt. everyone on nyspeed that I have talked to that owns a cobalt seems to hate them with a passion and have a good bit of problems with them.

I told her not to, she was also looking at used Cavy’s. It was a lose lose situation. I bet she will listen to me next time. We had the same thing with her last car (that I told her not to buy) Mercury Mystique (Mistake) that was junk too. She wanted it because it “looked sporty” I said it’s junk, she bought it, and I was stuck fixing it all the time.

OT is this a known problem with the Cobalt’s?

Well chevy kinda has people fooled with that car, it relitively inexpensive it looks sporty the interior is real plasticy but to most people looks and feels good, and its a new car which is all alot of people aim for, I absolutly hate people who buy new cars just beacause there new, not actully because there a good car, I’ve never bought a new car but I cant imagine spending at least 20K and not Dirving a ton of cars first to really seperate a good car form a bad. So just by the image of the car they have most poeple hooked and sales are high and it doesnt matter to GM if it’s really any good or not.

Hrm, the way you drive it has nothing to do with it 🤣

Your better off checking [www.cobaltss.net](http://www.cobaltss.net) they have all types of models that post up on there…It sounds like a normal problem they have. How much can you really expect out of a sub 18k car?? I may bitch about mine all the time, but most of it is because of crap I’ve done to it…

hahaha.

i don’t understand why people with $20K want to spend their money on Chevy while a much better car with same price are available.

i.e Civic, Corolla…

Um, there is no fuckin way a civic that’s 20g’s is a much better quality car than what I have. At the end of the day all that matters to these companies is how much they sell. They don’t give a fuck about you, your money or anything like that. They are about moving volume, that’s it. If you mean that these cars can take more abuse than mine, your probably right, considering from what I’ve seen mostly women drive civics, corollas etc.

dude.

quality wise…

Civic, Corolla \> Cobalt.

period.

given 20K, i’ll keep it, add a bit more, and get an Si.
