I created a monster, after everyone finished watching football, we started screwing with GT4. Long story short, it’s now a LAN party. We have the Logitech Force Pro wheels and pedals. We have 4 playstations and TVs. We are looking for a possible fifth.

If you don’t have a PS2, and want to play anyway or if you have a PS2 w/network and GT4 then here is how it will go down:

If you know me, then you have my phone number. If you want to get your swerve on, give me a call first then swing by. We have one more slot open on the network switch.

We’re going until we get tired. Bring your memory cards and your CAT 5 cable. See you on the track 🙂

OMFG!!! WE HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN!!!

:headbang: :eekdance: :ohnoes: :eekdance: 🤣 :eekdance: :bump: :eekdance: :pimp: :eekdance:

It’s 6:25am and people are just now starting to leave.

We’ve got everything down to a science, how to hook them up, even LIVE REPLAY WHILE WE ARE PLAYING! (We just need a PC with a TV Tuner card to tape the races directly to MPEG). It’s a whole new ballgame playing with actual people that have some skillz.

Gran Turismo will never be the same again 🆒

_3 wide going into turn 6 on EL CAPITAN!!! Getting Divebombed by a sneaky black Z06 into Turn one on Tokyo. Sweet… :wiggle:_

Yeah, that was amazing. It totally lived up to my expectations. Most of the races were very close, with all three cars visible on the same screen in the replay.

Back when we used to have LAN parties, I could never convince my friends to play any racing games, all they wanted to play was FPS. Consequently, the _one_ time I got them to try at least an arcade style racer, it wasn’t any fun for anybody because I knew all of the courses and nobody else did. This was more like the one GT3 tourney we had at Bubble Tea, where the level of competition was much tighter.

Hopefully we’ll do it again next weekend.

El Capitan is the best for close races, especially with the R1s. And I found it more amusing on Tokyo when you were crawling by my NSX in your Cobra R and said sneaky Z06 went blasting by the both of us!

And with my F’d up schedule from this week, I’ll be up for an all night marathon either Friday or Saturday night!

question.

by hooking up 5+ PS2s, does that mean that there were 5+ people racing on one track, one TV, at the same time?

if so - 🆒

No. That would be 5+ people, racing on one track, on 5 TVs at the same time. 😉

Headphones are a good idea to have, too. It is much better when you can concentrate on the sound of your own engine, and also hear your opponents when they are close.

Also, for the benefit of anyone who plans to play:

> I’m thinking there should be some kind of structure to the cars you pick for favorites, in order to provide good competition.
>
> For example: **Everybody should have the following in their favorites for one-make “spec” races:**
>
> **Suzuki GSXR4**
> **Motorsports Elise**
> **Polyphony Digital Formula Gran Turismo**
> **Amuse S2000R1**
>
> _We may decide to add more “spec” races later on, since they tend to be close, fun races._
>
> Then something like the following:
>
> **Group C Lemans** car (Nissan R89C, R92CP, Mazda 787B, Sauber C9 Mercedes, Jaguar XJR9, Toyota 88CV, etc)
> **“normal” rally car** (Any of the Subarus, Mitsubishis, Toyotas, Peugeot 206, Hyundai Accent, Ford Escort or Focus)
> **Group B rally car** (Lancia Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, Ford RS200) _optional, we may not actually use these_
> **Any “LM” spec car** (350Z LM, RX7 LM, RX8 LM, NSX LM, etc)
> **JGTC GT500 class** (any one of the Supras, NSXs, or Skylines)
> **JGTC GT300 class**
> **Normal Japanese supercar** (no tuner cars) ie RX7, Skyline, Supra, 3000GT, Evo, etc, max 276hp
> **Old school domestic** (Charger, Chevelle, GTO, etc the '62 Buick would have to be forbidden though, and probably the Shelby Cobra)
> **Newer sports car, domestic or otherwise** (Ford GT, Z06, Saleen S7, Ruf RGT, Tommy Kaira ZZII, etc. No concepts or one-offs. Should be a production vehicle)
> **DTM or other Touring Car** (Audi A4 or TT, Opel Astra or Calibra, Mercedes, Mazda 6, Altezza, etc)

If you are lacking any of the above, I can provide a savegame with any car unlocked that you could possibly want. Just make sure you have a memory card without an existing GT4 save, or it’ll be overwritten.

:eekdance:

pimp shit.

I’d like to add to neuro’s listing… it would be fun to have a “stock” 1992-1999 class, open to all vehicles over 220 bhp / under 350 bhp **or,** by power/weight ratio. tire upgrades are optional.

also, a “K” car lightweight class would be some tight racing, city or close technical tracks only.

Remember that tire choice is only governed by how many laps we are running, and that street cars only can use street tires in arcade mode, not race tires. Sports Softs are what everybody uses on the street cars most of the time.

Could you provide some examples of cars you are looking for in this class?

I’ve been thinking about that one too. I already have two favorites for that class, and both are RWD.

I also didn’t mention it, but the Clio Cup car is another spec class we use, and also Initial D cars are something we’ve tried.
