# 10 years jail time for........

lol so a 17 y/o can have sex w/ a 10 y/o and that’s legal, but 18 and 16 are not. LOLOL. funny stuff.
are the numbers below indicative of the “degrees” of this crime in NY? if so, the 1st degree would be the “worst” and most punishable… so by these numbers, that means that an 18 y/o having sexual relations w/ a 12 y/o is worse than a 21 y/o having sexual relations w/ a 13 y/o.
in any event, there is so much wrong here it can’t all be factored in… moral is: lawmakers are stupid.

3rd Degree = E Felony
2nd Degree = D Felony
1st Degree = B Felony

Its gotta be a race thing. The girl had to be white. Think about it, its in Georgia. No one would care if it was two white kids or two black kids. Parents probably found out their little princess was fucking around with a black guy and flipped, so they reported it to the cops.

Same kind of thing happened to my brother in law. At a party he hooked up with a girl who said she was 19. Turns out she was like 16, and the daughter of a county sheriff. So now he’s a convicted sex offender. PS they’re both white and in NY.
If you don’t know, you betta ax somebody.

#1 Luck had nothing to do with it. He should have paid better attention to where he was putting his penis. Jail is not the worst thing that can happen to you for putting your penis in the wrong place.
#2 My point WAS that the laws and penalties can be unjust. I don’t think race has anything to do with this issue.

#4 In fact I disagree that race relations are a whole lot different in the deep south. The notable exception being that in the south, white racists identify themselves by displaying the flag of a failed union of racist men on their bumpers and hats. There are racists everywhere, its just that in the south you can see them coming.

First off my grammar is the last thing that is on trial to begin with the second fact is i am a black male whose girlfriend is white and i am very aware and knowledgeable to race relations. Third i am a political science major and have taken many courses in fields related to this and speak from much more research than you, but hey you have all the answers so what does my opinion matter. fourth i offer my condolences for your family and you reply like that it leaves me to question your character as a man.Fifth you added the white and in NY to your post thus making it a valid point of topic to be disscussed im sorry that you are unable value my research on the subject but i will grant you that you are correct laws are unjust and unfair but that is just stating the obvious i offer you this research a case such as the case of Marcus Dixon and then come back to me if u truly feel that this case has absolutely nothing to do with race. I am not attacking your point of view merely adding important information to a topic that i feel very strongly about, and am very happy to discuss with any person who truly has an understanding of this situation I apologize if i offended you in any way that is not my goal I hope you take all the things i said into consideration before you plan a response that will probably be negative and demeaning to the conversation

I can appreciate your opinion. It is no more or less valid than my own. I hope that your girlfriend’s family treats you with the same level of respect as anyone else who dates their daughter.
I have not researched Marcus Dixon’s legal case. I don’t think that a comparison to this case has any more merit than a comparison to my brother in law’s. You may have researched the Dixon case, but I bet you don’t know all of the factors of THIS case. Without those details, its kind of hard to judge with rightious indignation.
I have lived in NY and I do live in the deep south. That doesn’t make me an expert in N vs S race relations, but I don’t see how you being black with a white girlfriend and courses in PS makes you one.

Ummm okay.
My point here is that while you might have strong feelings about the Dixon case, they probably aren’t relevant to the facts of this case and that any comparison you draw is flawed.

I heard on the news the other day a case where an 11 year old girl had sex with a 10 year old boy and she got pregnant. They were talking about how the girl was going to be convicted of child molestation.

a little off topic, i think that far too many people complain about race issues today. yes they exist. so what. they will never completely vanish. some people hate the rich, some hate the poor. some people detest women. some hate on races. none of us are perfect, we all have obstacles to overcome.
stop being mad about it and bringing it up, and pretend we are all the same. b/c, we really are.
besides, judges are “supposed” to be way over that anyway. so dropping the race card issues, the system is completely fucked. i wonder if these prosecutors/judges ever heard of something called, community service. something that actually benefits everyone, instead of sucking tax payer money.
now, if the same 19 y/o continually was going after and having relations w/ 13 or 14 y/o’s, then there might be a reason for a worse punishment or jail term.

I just watched part of the documentary on this…the girl was black too. The DA used the excuse that he would have been called a racist even if he didnt press charges cause then he wasnt looking out for the best interests of the young black girl :bloated:
