there is a front drive class. so you dont have to compete against the much more dominant awd class. that being said, the mopar srt-4’s were really really fast when they were competing group 5. there are horsepower and homolgation restrictions that help even the playing field, but really, a fwd car, with the right powerband, and setup competitively, can be driven to finish as well as AWD platforms. i.e. driver being good \> car being stoopid fast
