I think its 86-92 for the 2nd gen?..

I’ve been seeing these 3rd gen TT swaps going for MAD cheap and wondered if you can slide them right into a 2nd gen without any problems? I think I’ve owned about 2 1st gens and 2 second gens in the past and am starting to miss the fun I had in them. If this swap is easier, then I’ll start pumping them out!

With enought time and money you can get the 13BREW? (TT) into a 2nd gen Rx7. I don’t know why you would want to when you can build a mean 13B-T for that much money. I don’t know all the specifics, all I remember is that it was basically a shit load of work that isn’t really worth it. [www.rx7club.com](http://www.rx7club.com) might have something in an archive about it, it’s been asked tons of times so the search function should work on it. I have an 88 GXL that first I’m gonna get running with the 13B. Then I plan on turbocharging it. I know people say turboing the NA motor is a bad idea but what do they know.
For those wondering, the 13B is a Wankel Rotary engine found in the Mazda Rx-7 some 1st gens and 3rd gens used variants of this motor. Apex seals are a wear item and rotary motors, when taken care of properly (like ANY car should be) they last at least 100k miles from what I have read, probably more if they aren’t modified or beat on. There have been many forms of rotarys I know of the 12A, 13B, and 20B, there are more.
BTW there is nothing wrong with doing a 350 swap, if you want cheap, easy, (reliable?), power do that instead. From what I can see, V8’s are more forgiving than a rotary if you f#$% up the tuning, either that or people know how to tune V8’s and just look at the rotary and say “WTF is that, put a V8 in there.” Also, the newer lighter V8’s tend not to cause as much as a balance issue as some of the heavier ones. Even then its not a huge shift, most swaps are still close enough to 50/50 that it wont affect handling that much.

wow, thats a quality grannys kit! I have plenty of v8 laying around, but I was more interested to see if that TT motor was worth it.
