Just wondering if ANYBODY can help me with a HUD swap I’m about to perform.

I understand our odometers run analog and I’m going to have hell to pay for getting this Type X HUD.

I know that usually the HUDs are plug-n-play, not with the one I have (digital odometer). I’m not very experienced at all with this stuff, so if anybody can give me some information or even lend a hand it’d be appreciated

The type=x clusters didn’t have a HUD display option… So the plug is missing from the back of the cluster, therefore this is practically impossible, unless you can source the signal from somewhere else and get it all running.

by HUD I mean just the cluster
I’ve seen the speedometer projection setup but I’m not talking about that

Simply the issue is going to be getting the digital odometer to work

It’s a plug and play unit the only thing that won’t work is the fuel gauge for some odd reson. so you’ll need a fuel gauge seperately. autometer makes em.

buit the digital odo and all that should use the same plug and reading…

first off that cluster is not specific to they type x it’s just a kouki s13 cluster…i can fix a type x cluster so everything works… and also it’s not plug and play unless you have a kouki motor set… the speedo and temp gauge signals are also wrong…

Oh right, my friend had a ‘type-x’ cluster. He got the whole clip. Thats why it worked i guess.

Ted was able to modify mine to work just fine. You need the two plugs and a bit of the wiring harnesss from the Kouki (Type X) cluster to get it to work. You cant use the harness from your existing S13 cluster. Ted used an older gas guage from another S13 cluster to get the gas gauge work. You have to change the speed sensor and temp sensor to S14 to get the cluster to work fully. The tach works with no issues. Save urself the time and headaches and just pay Ted to get it to work. Kid has mad electrical skillz.

OMFG…yeah this sounds about as complicated as I was forewarned.

How much might the mod for this to work cost? Or who’s Ted and how can I contact him?
