Hey guys. My name is Dylan and I’m fairly new to this site, I have owned my 240sx since the start of 2011. I bought it as my first car and at the time I was 18. I paid 3500 dollars for it with 213xxx on it with an autotragic transmission and Work XD9 wheels(Which I believe originally came from this forum) So here is a picture of when I first bought it. ![http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/188468_10150164969481075_6688395_n.jpg](http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/188468_10150164969481075_6688395_n.jpg) I loved it. I had always wanted a s13 hatch and to have one as my first car was pretty cool. I didn’t know much about cars beforehand. When I bought the car it also had Tein lowering springs but the front struts were on their way out. Although it really needed some adjustable suspension linkage so I could align it properly while being so low. I was on my way to that when I managed to smack my oil pan really good and knocked my oil pick up off. The car was flatbedded home and parked in the garage in fall of 2011. I had some decision making to do, rebuild my ka24 and buy a 5spd to swap in during the winter or to look in to a sr20det complete swap. But in a weekend we managed to swap the motorsets which I felt pretty accomplished doing since I had only owned my car for a year. ![http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/424604_10150683133631075_1743747798_n.jpg](http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/424604_10150683133631075_1743747798_n.jpg) I also ordered some other small parts for the car like some 20mm wheel spacers, a Recaro SRD bucket setup, a steering wheel hub and my awesome girlfriend got me a Nardi suede deep corn wheel. I didn’t do much else because I spent all I had getting the sr20 setup and running for the spring. I got the car back on the road in time for spring and driving it for the first time in over 6 months felt great. Having the car run strong made me feel super accomplished and made it even more fun to drive. So over the summer I didn’t do too much to the car other than add a boost controller and gauge so I can run 10psi. I bought new tie rod/tie rod ends and replaced those and I also did my RUCA’s at the same time and took the car to be properly aligned which made a huge difference. I took the car to some autox and lapping days to try and teach myself car control. I got a great deal from the man himself Dylan Sharpe and I should apologize to Bing again for making him hold and intercoooler for me when I was a huge flop. I am still looking/saving for some kouki tails and I even got an OEM “Twin Cam Turbo Intercooler” sticker which I am way too excited about hahah… The blue bar is a HICAS lock bar since this car was blessed with the oh so wonderful rear steer assist… lol. So with the parts piling up and the winter coming, I parked the car a bit early because of a super annoying and power robbing exhaust leak. Over 2 years I’ve learned so much about cars and I have met some awesome people. Yeah I spent a lot of time cleaning my engine bay lol. It doesn’t always look that nice but I try. I was in Wasaga last summer but not this year… I ran into two other s13’s, a black one and a red vert on the strip there actually hahah ---

Taken more of the engine apart and I’m just saving up for some engine parts to start the build. Hopefully I am able to get the prep/paint work done to the type x stuff soon as well and take care of the small rust issue on my drivers frame rail. Oh I also bought some kouki tails from Mr. Sharpe to complete the type-x conv. ---

So a bit of car related updates lol. Purchased a set of Kouki tail lights and got a Nismo cooling panel from the other Dylan. Also ordered a bunch of small parts I needed for the engine/transmission while it is removed from the car, these include: -Water pump, seal decided to let go on mine. I found I have a lot of coolant issues(Bad stat, cracked stat housing, dried up seals in pump) I wish that they capped the effing system at the importers. -Tomei rocker arm stoppers and Nissan valve cover gasket(Figured it is cheap insurance plus my VC had a small leak) -Throw out bearing since mine was starting to whine -Metal steering column bushing, engine is out so why not -Metal shifter bushing to tighten the gearbox up -Mani to turbo gasket to fix my horrible exhaust/boost leak! -I also ordered a driveshaft hanger bearing since mine has dried up and Frsport had one on clearance for 40 bucks. -Battery relocation since FMIC So when all my parts come in I can get to work during my Christmas holidays. Then clean all the leaked oil and coolant(turbo coolant line/water pump leak this summer) off the block and components and get the engine pretty looking to put back into the car. Next up I am putting my 300zx brakes on and doing my front suspension(Tension rods, Tein inner/outer tie rods) and hopefully get my type x kit painted and start to install… very excited for this build! I will snap some pictures of the ever growing small parts pile on my futon soon lol ---

A lot of things are getting painted soon as well as I am going to be starting to clean everything up. This is the list I have left: -Relocate battery to trunk -Weld tab on intercooler core -Clean engine and engine bay, touch up engine bay paint. -Order new turbo elbow and catback(Tomei elbow, HKS exhaust) -Order brake pads rotors -Order kouki wing -Solder VSS wire so speedometer works again! -Order tension rods -Install skid plate -Install replacement hanger bearing on driveshaft -Install kouki tail lights and kit -Install hicas lock bar So I am getting closer… really only need to order brake and exhaust parts then clean up and slowly put her back together.
