# 1997 Mazda Protege LX parts or project car $600

I am selling my 1997 Mazda Protege LX. I am not gonna sugar coat it, I am selling this car because it will not pass inspection and will be off the road by the end of the month. Anyways it’s a 5 speed, 1.5l DOHC engine, 144k miles.

Pros:  
Engine is rock solid and runs awesome  
Power windows  
Power locks  
Great mpg(38 if you really baby it on the highway)  
runs and drives  
new exhaust  
new serpentine belts  
new oil pan  
regular oil changes

Cons:  
Needs a new windshield  
Needs a new power steering rack  
Typical external rust for its age(over the wheel wells, door sills, etc)  
The underside is extremely rusty(although solid)  
AC doesn’t work  
Cruise doesn’t work(although this could be easily fixed by someone who knows what they are doing)

In any case this is a great car if you just need parts for a protege project or if you need a winter beater for a minimal investment. $600, loacted in Rochester, call 585-451-9849 for more info
