i wanna go in for a ride in jason’s neon lol but yea all the mini stock neons r sick but there also way over stock trust me i had one lol along with a couple golfs and crx’s ---

I am sorry I just don’t know how anyone can get off saying a neon is a good car. Even in stock form they are horrible. I used to work for Dodge and I know. They came back with more problems than you can ever imagine. I’m not trying to bash anyone for building a car but neons in general are crap. To put money into a car like that is the worst idea I have ever heard. I don’t even care if you are running 12’s in the bitch. It’s still a god damn fucking piece of shit neon. Even the SRT4 owners get shit about having neons. And they have the “fast” version. The only people who will give you props on building a neon are other neon owners. But then again, it’s not about what anyone else thinks. But if you care, at all, about what people say to you, or about you. For the love of god don’t build a neon. And say all you want about problems that the Corvettes have because sure it has its downfalls. But in the end it’ still a Corvette. Please for your own good, even a Honda would be better than building a neon… ---

dont feel like reading threw the whole thread but i used to have a 95, planned on swapping a DOHC 2.0 from a local 98 neon r/t. there fun little cars, even more fun the hell outta the motor, and not have problems. and i almost forgot, what ever u get or what ever u do, replace the head gasket to the newest version. ---

Please for your own good, even a Honda would be better than building a neon… i agree with you about them being shit, every car has their problems or flaw or whatever you feel like calling them. i think srt4 owners are alittle more nuts cuz they spend 12-16 thousand on a neon used which most of the time are sloppy seconds. and as for the money wise i have about 1900 max including total of what i paid for the car. if i was worried bout what people think i wouldnt of done a neon but i could care less what anyone thinks about my car. ---

put a turbo on that thing. you can get one so cheep. yes i am an srt4 owner. yes it is still a neon at the end of the day. oh well i love it! gets the job done. 400hp daily driver that get 31/mpg. Plus its so much fun to smoke all the v8’s and hear that “thats a fast neon” line. never gets old. and the guy that said you should build a honda before a neon, lets be realistic, it takes a ton of money to make any honda fast. not saying they are bad, just a huge project if you dont know what you are getting into. lets see some pics!!! ---

A fast neon is a much bigger project. It took us 2 weeks to build a 400+ whp civic that runs low 11s. It was built in a driveway in the rain. ---

Corvettes are nice but when you pull up next to the same car with some one who should be 6ft under already and not driving still you cant really bash some one else. Vettes are every where and always have been. At least when you retire you will fit in ---
