# 1998 Jeep Wrangler

Looking for $3000 obo
The truck originally came from somewhere down in AZ, then made its way up to Rochester and into Buffalo when my brother bought it about 4 years ago. It sat for about a
winter then came into my hands early spring 2011, and I daily drove it little over a year and its been sitting since then in my parents’ backyard. As it is, it’s very clean for a Jeep in this area, there’s no frame rot to speak of, paint’s decent, motor’s healthy, few parts of it are barely dulled with surface rust. Details are as follows:
4.0 inline 6
about 151k
5 speed
lifted about 3" on skyjacker shocks and unknown springs
33" all terrains paired with 15x8 eagle alloys
mostly stock except for some small things here and there
the tub has been painted with herculiner
When I’d first got it there was a misfire in cylinder 1. Took it to carstar over on Genesee in Cheektowaga or something of that sort and the problem’s been fixed, but I lost the receipt. It had its oil changed before going off the road, along with a new battery. There are some issues that should be resolved soon but isn’t _entirely_ immediate:
when I put in the new shocks, the bolts at the rear passenger mount snapped so it’s riding on three shocks and four springs. I was gonna drill it and tap it but I got lazy, and the shop I took it to said they didn’t wanna do it because of the proximity of the gas tank. But it shouldn’t be too much work.
I think a CEL comes on once in a while for the fuel pump, and it should be replaced sooner rather than later as I’d had it sputter out on me twice. I kicked it a few times and it started back up lol. I guess while you’re changing the pump you can drill the bolts too…
Front u-joints should be changed - this is a bit more immediate. I bought some Spicer ones, forget the part numbers but they’re in the truck. Again, too lazy/not knowledgeable enough to change them. I was careful to avoid hitting bumps at speed.
Some smaller issues include shitty, corroded wiring to the gauges as they’d suddenly stop working and then would flick back on. And I think the radio is shot.
The truck started right up every time I got in it, except for once when I found the wiring from battery to starter to be too corroded but that’s since been replaced. Transmission shifts nicely though I say it wouldn’t hurt to change the fluid. This thing is fun as hell in the snow and mud, and it’s great to take the hardtop off. It needs a bit of love to get it to where it deserves to be but to the motivated mind the work should be nothing.
