Who really gives a shit about the front plate? It’s is what it is. If the car started as a ex. Your only a few Interior/exterior parts, and a swap away from being a si. Depending who you know you can build a clone for about 1500-2k more.

> If you’re gonna relocate the plate, I say go big or go home. The make hide-away kits that mount to the underside of the bumper and are electronic, controlled by a button in the cabin. You can fold it down or back up at will.

> Car looks good though. My question is, wouldn’t it have been cheaper and quicker to buy a red Si instead of converting a coupe over? I mean, I dont know because I dont price out OEM bumper covers and B16’s, or the necessary labor involved

OP, clean car, and WELCOME! Hope to see ya out.

errnie…

And you will still get a ticket.

If a cop is a douche (or the car and/or driver looks like trouble, so the front plate is just an opener to get a closer look) enough to pull you over for no front plate… when you hit the switch with the red/blues flashing behind you, they will be even more pissed, and still write you a ticket for no front plate… argue all you want with them, it wasnt down when it was observed, thats all they need to write a ticket. Plea not guilty and fight it, sure but going to court and wasting 2 hours easy gets old fast… ask me how I know.

Get the flip kit, flip it down with ignition on source, turn the car off, and it flips up… thats the way to do it. Not at will. You will forget to flip it down, and get nabbed. Ignition source is how we rig them on retracting plates on mini trucks and hot rods. Its tits.
