# 2000 CRV oil leak

whats up guys? My 2000 CRV with 205,000 miles on it has a minor oil leak that appears to be coming for the oil gasket. It almost looks like it is coming through a few of the bolts around the oil pan. I am not losing a ton of oil, actually just a minimal amount. Its usually a few quarter sized drops that show up on the ground maybe every other trip I take. Is this something I should be worried about, or just keep an eye on to make sure Im not driving on super low oil? I really don’t feel like dumping all sorts of money into something that’s not going to cause me problems, especially with the amount of miles I have on the car.

Shit leaks on high mileage cars how much longer are you keeping it?

If it’s just a minimal amount, just monitor your oil level regularly and top off as needed. Unless you feel you’re gonna be logging a lot of miles that the amount of oil would be significant. Even then, I guess you have to weigh the cost of having the gasket replaced vs. the cost of the oil needed for replacing what you lose to decide what’s more worth doing.

Replace the oil pan gasket, I doubt any bolts are loose but you can check. Gasket is cheap and easy to do, what year crv?

Oil pan is easy to replace the gasket on that car. Just drop the exhaust to slide it out. If u can do it, anybody can. Getting the old gasket free sucks though

This is a b series, you can replace the oil pan gasket in about 20 minutes, 10 if you have a cordless drill
I think it’s somewhere around 15-20 bolts. Very straightforward

should be an easy fix, but if its not leaking much i wouldnt worry about it, it could be the main seal leaking down and looking like the oil pan gasket

Besides may not even be the oil pan, possible rear main, either way, let it leak and park it in the street or put some cardboard under your car
