# 2001 vw passat 1.8 t  hard starting

no not at all… that is normal and fine… it’s an oem close recirc system…

maybe the maf is dying??? try to unplug the maf sensor and see if that helps start… did you get her the newer ‘green top’ coolant temp sensor???
