Hyundai - Tib of old… and Tib of new. 500% improvement.
GM - The GTO is a much better bargain than the Camaro/TransAm was.
GM - The solstice/sky will be cool, I’m considering one.
Buick - The lacrosse is a step in the right direction, should have been supercharged.
Aurora - Pretty fricken sweet car, FYI - It has a GTP motor, and is said to have more TQ due to the ECU being different. (Not all Auroras have the GTP motor.

I think there is a supercharged Lacrosse. If you look around some of them have dual exhaust. My grandparents just bought one. Nice car, but 3.8, no charger, no duals.

Edit: Cancel that. The 3.6l DOHC must be the car with dual exhaust. I stand corrected.

Actually, no Auroras were available with the GTP engine.

They used the L47 V8 and the LX5 V6 became an option when they were redesigned.

The Regal wasn’t even an Olds. ☹

A tidpit of info: The Lacrosse is called the Allure in Canada, because in Quebec “Lacrosse” is a slang word for, uhm, self-indulgence.

You could get the 3.8 s/c in the 95+ Buick Rivieras, which I guess looked sort of similar to the Aurora other than, you know, having two doors.

Mitsubishi was partially owned by Chrysler. I’m still unclear how much they own, if any, today.

Toyota’s Luxury line is Lexus

Honda’s Luxury line is Acura

Subaru is paritally owned by GM

Nissan is owned by Renault

Mazda is owned by Ford

No, Honda & Toyota are not owned by any company.

No Japanese car manufacturer is owned by another that I can think of

So what about the Infiniti something, and the Nissan 350Z being the same car?

Any link between the 2 companies? Because to me, it’s obvious the car is the same…

I’m sure someone here knows which Infiniti I’m talking about…

And I bet the model name has a Q in it somewhere… 🤣

The Solstice is already available. The first allocation of the cars are all sold but you can literally go into a Pontiac dealership and “buy” one right now. You wouldn’t receive it in Buffalo until the winter or early next year though, I think.

> From [Autoblog](http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000447055073/):
>
> _The Hyundai Equus, much like the Toyota Crown, is one of those cars you would only know about if you’ve been to those countries or if you obsessively follow the import car scene. Equus is Hyundai’s luxurious flagship model, but it’s only available in Korea and it’s been that way since 1999. But now, with Hyundai’s global ambitions, the next generation Equus is likely headed to the North American market. Whether it will retain the Hyundai nameplate or be sold under a Hyundai luxury brand name remains to be seen._
>
>
>
> _Recently, the guys over at Autobild snapped some photos of the 2008 Equus being tested on public roads. The heavily wrapped-up Equus looks to be slightly bigger than the current model while its overall design is still fairly conservative in the typical Korean/Japanese fashion. The new Equus will be RWD with a 270 bhp 3.8L V6 and a 5-speed manual/automatic as the sole transmission option. With the head wave Hyundai’s been making lately, we are certainly excited to see the next Equus on this side of the Pacific soon._
>
> From [Edmunds](http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=106903):
>
> _Unless you’ve visited Korea lately, you’ve probably never heard of the Hyundai Equus. It’s Hyundai’s largest, most luxurious sedan, but since its debut in 1999 it’s been a domestic market sedan only. That may change in the coming years as the 2008 Hyundai Equus is being designed with U.S. sales in mind._
>
>
>
> Our latest spy photos show an Equus sedan that’s bigger and more luxurious-looking than the current model. The styling looks as though it will remain on the conservative side, but given that the Equus will likely go up against cars like the Toyota Avalon and Buick Lucerne it shouldn’t be a problem. Size shouldn’t be an issue either. Our handy spy shooters measured a wheelbase of 116 inches, a full 5 inches longer than the Avalon’s 111-inch wheelbase. That should give the Equus plenty of room in back to go along with what looks to be a well-appointed cabin.
>
> The last-generation Equus made the switch to rear-wheel drive and the 2008 model will retain that configuration. Power is expected to come from a 3.8-liter V6 with upwards of 270 horsepower. A five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability will handle the shifts.
>
> _Look for this sedan to debut in about two years time, most likely with a new name for its new market._
