most cars have some type of warranty problem per 15 months of being beaten on. relatives’ acuras and lexuses had several.

it just depends on what you buy… My STi’s were never upside down. Even my totally thrashed 04.

It only cost me 8000 bucks to drive my 06 for three years… That’s only 220 bucks a month. I’d say that’s a good deal…

I never brought either STi back to the dealer. Never had a problem. (until i went 12K miles w/out changing the oil in my 04, then did a 60 second long axis spin with no oil in the block… :eekdance:)

Ugh, i love STIs… FS 08 rabbit, low miles.

My 07 Silvarado is heavier can tow more (granted less hp) and gets 20% better mileage. If the TBSS got close to 18 mpg (reported by owner) I agree, it would be the hottness in SUV’s.

I’m lucky if I can crack 20mpg. I’d be happy with 16mpg in a similar sized vehicle with +140hp and AWD.

Tbss is honestly not a bad vehicle. Mine has had weird issues, rear end bearing failure, injector failure and stupid crap with the windows. All issues were fixed and it’s a champion now. If I could do it over I might have bought a used one. At the time I got mine the sticker was 41,xxx and I got it for 33. Then about a year after you could get them for $29,000 I believe. Gas mileage is terrible though. About 14/18 during summer. Winter is about 12 city.

Ya my truck is about 9-10mpg now poopy winter! I was counting it like 1 month ago and was amazed and now i figured it out… its winter and they change the blend in the gas so i get worse mileage… oh well, i can still afford to drive it so i dont complain, i wish i got 12 though.

damn, 12-14 city hurts. and the fact that we have no idea if gas will go back up. No one has had any diff or tranny issues?? I know these are suppose to be weak spots. I would of course look at a ext warranty. I have a few days and someone like Rob tc might beat me to it

When I said rear bearing failure, I meant rear differential bearing failure. Good thing for warranties!

Yeah I got that email this morning too. If I didn’t work today I would’ve went out there and bought it this morning. There’s not even another one on autotrader for less than 16k and that’s a base 2wd 1ss, this one was a sick price.
