Well the announcement was made before the Pepsi 400 NASCAR race at Daytona Internatinal speedway by Chrysler Group President Tom Lasorda and Cheif of Operating Officer Eric Ridenour.

The new Challenger is sex. Can’t wait to see them on the road. It’ll be interesting to see where this will fall performance wise between the Charger SRT-8 & Viper. I think the Challenger should come standard with a 5.7L HEMI, the R/T Model should get the 6.1L 425hp HEMI and the SRT-8 model… should get an even larger HEMI. There are rumors of a larger displacement HEMI (something like 7L capable of serious power)…Wonder what’s gonna happen with the Viper once the Challenger hits the streets

All those big engine choices in one car wouldn’t really make any sense…
