I think that’s the biggest thing people are forgetting with this car though, it’s not a “saloon car” like the old Skylines, it’s a supercar. A completely different type of vehicle. It’s not meant to be modified like a saloon car, it’s supposed to be enjoyed for the piece of engineering art that it is.

No. That’s my point.

You’re saying “Measuring cars on the 'ring is stupid because no one who buys them tracks them”.

By that logic, why then, does it matter what the quarter mile time of any car is? It’s been the standard for benchmarking cars for ages… But if no one goes to the drags with their car, then who cares?

It’s a benchmark. The purpose is to give a quantified result to the engineering and capabilities of the car. Just like any benchmark. Most people don’t strive for that benchmark, it just shows what is capable.

Yay for arguing on the interwebs.
