For those of us that dont pay a “gas guzzler” tax, what is a “lid?”

no gas guzzler tax on the camaro. and they get good gas mileage too. id drive a car that gets 15 in the city and 26 on the highway, in the real world… alot more fun than a slow turd that gets mid 20s and upper 30s.
the lid is the airbox cover. most are smoothed out, maybe a tad taller than stock. nothing serious.

nah, most camaro SS’ came with an SLP one anyway. not really any gains to be excited about. just one more thing for a camaro driver to add to their LS1tech signature mod list

because have you ever actually looked under the hood of a F-body? Unless it has a FAST intake manifold, you cant see any other mods. You cant see if it really has long tubes, (obviously a cam) heads with a casting number etc…
basically, everyone knows what under the hood of a stock f-body looks like…no need to show it.
I think it was more of along the lines to show under the hood of the new 5.0. I dont think it had any other reason.

Maybe if it was MY personal car vs another personal car, one person that owns one ford on the side of different ford that is 20 years newer and shares little to no parts arguing with a person who owns a camaro who is on the side of a car that is 10 years newer and shares little to no parts is kinda silly :lol

I’d still take the mustang…if it had the track package that camaro woulda got walked out on…gears make such
A difference…and…I hate fbodies lol…my friends 95 gt went 15.0 @ 92 with 3.08s…we put exhaust and 4.11s and pulleys on it and it went 13.6x @ 102mph…massive difference…and I’m with adam on this crapmaro only having a lid…cmon…these gts are going 117 in the quarter with exhaust and the trackpackage…with a tune. I mean how fast is an ss with a lid…lol and the stang had 10miles on it.
