A facebook friend of mine who grooms for Folsom said they will definitely be open on the 18th. First confirmed.
Holland said they may not open until the weekend of the 21st due to staking not being done yet.
Tri County had this to say yesterday:
> Trails are CLOSED until December 18th…I know there are signs up and snow is on the ground, but we will lose trails if sleds are out on the trails before this date. The bow/smoke stick guys have one more week or so left…have Patience grasshopper:)
Sounds like they’ll be ready on the 18th as well. Looks like we’ll be dropping at Byrncliff Wednesday morning.
Hopefully taking the sleds out for a little test and tune on a friend’s land (who has a private runway that they don’t plow) Saturday.

I plan on being out wednesday. My brother says they had over 2ft this morning in Holland and still more to come.

And unfortunately there will be people on them regardless, just like always. I only drove to EA today, but my brother who is up on the hill in Strykersville/Wales said he has well over 2’ and it is still coming down. Should be off to a great start this year. I can’t even remember the last time we had a winter that was off to a start like this.

I’m finally going to get my sled in this weekend to have picks put on, new carbides and have my mechanic give it a once over before I take it out next week. I will be down to ride Wednesday night for anyone who is out in the Holland/Strykersville/Arcade area. Both Jay’s, I have your numbers and can give you a buzz if we want to meet up.

By Wednesday night we’ll probably be heading home since we’ll be getting started early in the morning. Give me a call though and if we’re still out we’ll let you know where.
I just got back from NAPA with new plugs and two new relays. The SDI’s love to eat those relays up so I’m going to start the season on new ones and move the current ones over as spares.

Jay, are you looking to buy them and put them on yourself or have them put on? My mechanic is right up on Vermont Hill, you probably know him…Jeff Z. He’s getting mine for me and throwing them on. I am also getting the tunnel protector put on as well.

Just buy them, i’ll install them myself. Already have the tunnel protectors from my old track having studs. Probably just gonna do 96 pattern.
If funny you mention him, my brother was just talking to him. He had a sled 4-sale but someone else bought it first.

Yeah, his sled was in great shape. I have never let anyone else work on my 4 wheeler or my sled, he does great work. Always helps me when I’m in a pinch too.

Rumor has it the guy who got the trail closed in Holland got caught. I was at a party over the weekend and was talking to one of club guys. They called the cops when it happened and we’re able to follow the tracks back to his house. Gave him trespass ticket. Also talked to land owner and the trail should be reopened.

Sold my two 800s and the polaris this weekend and bought an F6 tonight. We’ll see how I like it. I was considering a Rev but don’t know much about them, so went with the twin-spar

Picked them up from storage at my mom’s on lunch since I’ll be skiing tomorrow and won’t have time. Took Wednesday off and my buddy will be at my house at 8am to head out riding.

Looks like there’s a ton of snow by the Folsom trails but you guys already seem to know that.
“Trails will open in less that 20 hours. A few words of caution. Snow depths are incredible. Because of some of the severe weather during hunting season, trails were not checked for obstacles. Downed trees will be covered with snow and cause extreme pain when hit. Also, don’t assume you know where the trail is. Snow depths in some area’s may actually be covering up signs. Groomers will be out at dusk. If at all possible, wait that one extra day until groomers can get out and establish the trails.”
