With both riders being good it comes down to the bike

As you can see the r1 is no slouch nearly dragging knee at first

Oh I’m well aware of this factor, 'tards are lighter and more nimble with the better powerband for sub 100 speeds. They can also go much lower and be stable. In the twisties they are simply faster, but the super sports nearly take the paint off them as they pass on the straights.
