# 4L60E question...

I have a good 4L60E out of a 94 S15 Jimmy. The tranny is the open bottom bell housing.

I found a newer truck with a bad motor. I want to use my motor and tranny out of my truck for the new truck. However the 96 truck has the newer 4L60E tranny, the tranny has a full bell housing like a manual tranny would have. Can I use my older style tranny in lieu of the newer style in the vehilce.

Wow, I wasn’t aware that there were two different setups on 4L60E’s…

Pewter, I guess you wouldn’t have sold me that 4L60E if it wouldn’t work on an LT1, but I never knew this. Damn. Guess you learn something every day.
