The simple truth is that you have to sell a lot of base model cars if you want to crank out a small amount of the high performance versions. Compared to the Mustang, the F body is a shitty base car: horrible outward visability, awful ergronomics, piss poor seviceability, lots of unresolvable squeaks and rattles, plus poor mechanical reliability. The standard GM five pack. It’s hard to sell something like to somebody that wants something sporty looking but isn’t willing to buck up for the big engine. Also, GM pulled their typical “can’t get all the good options on one car crap” back then. I remember it being nearly impossible to get a V8, manual tranny and a hardtop in the the same car. You could find lots of cars with two of them but not all three. WTF is up with that? I begged my zone rep for an anniversary Trans Am hard top with a manual and even she couldn’t find me one. Hell, she couldn’t even get me a standard white T/A hard top with a manual so I could build a clone. ---

The ignorance in your post just proves you are one of the tools driving one, this is not even worth getting into. My point was there are a ton of douchebags buying the base models and a lot buying the v-8 models…which you are one of (I know a bunch of cool ones tho) ---

Being around ford dealerships that much makes it a bit shocking that you feel the stang is so much better in the quality/reliability category. Quality wise I always thought fords were terrible. ---
