Demitra was a great player (as I’m sure the rest of the players were)…sad news for the hockey world.
I was talking about this at work to some coworkers…Honestly surprised this doesn’t happen more frequently in the sports world.

yeah this is pretty crazy.
they’re saying this is the worst summer ever for Hockey but this to me is the first tragedy. professional hockey players hanging themselves can fuck off.

around similar circumstances.
depression + getting paids hundreds of thousands of dollars to play hockey = no sympathy
depression + having to deal with consistent msisfortune or actual tragedy = legit
if it comes out that these guys got touched by their coach or something to that effect it’ll start to make sense.
plane crash is legit tragedy though.

it’s not a matter of whether you can buy your way out of depression.
let me ask you this…do you feel bad for kurt kobain? did he have any legitimate reason to commit suicide?
Ghaddafi should off himself because he’s going to face worse if he doesnt. Hilter was right to off himself, the columbine kids were right to off themselves… Kurt Kobain didnt and neither did Wade Belak. The guys had families that cared for them in addition to money and all the things that come along with their careers. fuck them for being that selfish putting thier families and friends though a suicide. depression is treatable, suicide is a crime

Depression is treatable, but it’s not easy for a person to admit they have it, let alone go and seek help. A lot of the time nobody knows a person is depressed other than the person themselves. It’s something that can severely cripple the mind and most commonly can alter your well being. With depression it’s very easy to convince yourself that you’re sick when there is nothing physically wrong with you. It’s not an “emo” nobody likes me disease, it’s not pleasant to endure.
