Yes, you own a car when you finance it. The bank gives you a loan, you BUY IT and then OWN IT. The car is collateral on the loan, so the bank can take it when you default on the loan. ---

No I don’t “own” it(outright), I pay 1.85% interest which is essentially free money so I can invest said money elsewhere where I’ll actually make money on instead of having a car paid for. B. Enjoy “building” an old car that’s paid for and sinking $25k in it. You’ll be COMPLETELY upside down and lose your ass on it when you sell it… I’ll enjoy my car I don’t have to turn a single wrench on and have 50,000mi of warranty on. Same reason my parents financed their 08 legacy 5 years ago. They could have paid cash and were going to until they were offered 0% financing through Subaru for 36 mos. My father realized the 25k would be better off invested earning money for the three years, technically reducing their out of pocket cost on the car. ---
