# 700r4---using all 4 gears in a 1/4 mile run??

Well when you use overdrive your whole tree locks together rotating in sequence causing heat and also putting more stress obviously on the transmission.And the smaller gears in overdrive only freewheel it doesnt hurt anything thats what they are designed to do.People get the impression that they rip clutches apart when they drop it hard in an automatic in actuality your reverse reaction drum flowers and thats the leading cause of death in transmissions besides heat when people race them.
