i was told i need to speak to a social therapist back in grade 2 when all i wrote about in my journal was Transformers and GI Joes… what the fuck else even matters in grade 2? If my son talks about anything other than that i’ll be pissed ---

consider the assignment to be a phycho test. If you ask kids this age to draw a picture that makes them think of the Holidays I expect something happy. If one kid deviates you might want to talk to them to make sure things are ok at home. It doesn’t mean you’re disapproving of religion in any way. (even though a dead immortal man who has two daddies does amuse me as a concept) ---

There should be no need for that. If the teacher would of asked why he made that drawing and what it meant to him the whole thing probably would have been avoided. Unless, the teacher did ask and was given a sketchy/questionable answer. A relavant use of evaluation… A group of Kindergardners formed a “club” to pick on the lone black kid in class. That might be worth looking in to. ---

The kid is 8. He obviously goes to church. So what does he draw? a picture of Jesus dying on the cross for his sins. The ENTIRE BASIS of the christain religion. So yeah, he must be psychotic :bloated:. Oh and btw, your knowlage of christian beliefs is somewhat lacking to say the least. ---

jeg, you might want to research the history of Christmas and its pagan roots. Christians stole and adapted the stories to their needs. At one point the British Puritans banned it as having nothing to do with the bible (these are are the same puritans who went to America). ---

Oh man > This is not the first time in recent years that a Taunton student has been sent home over a drawing. In June 2008, a fifth-grade student\*was suspended from Mulcahey Middle School for a day after creating a stick figure drawing that appeared to depict him shooting his teacher and a classmate. nice Normal school. Come to think of it, I think the counceling would be more appropriate for the adult who can’t see the innocence in a child’s drawing. If you’re really creeped out by that then you’ve probably got some issues to deal with… ---
