# 87 pulsar nx se engine swap

Hey all ,
I’ve got this Pulsar NX SE , it originally had the ca16de in it but i’ m trying to put in the ca18det. But can’t seem to find one thats fwd . Does it really matter if its FWD or RWD ? most of the info i 've received on the engine tells me that it makes no difference . But when I contacted JDMsource the refused to sell me the motor because they said I needed a FWD engine and all there’s were RWD .Could someone shed some light on this subject once and for all

FWD engines sometimes have mounting differences between them and their RWD sisters…this may be the case with your request…
also oil pans and a few other items are also often different, so they may be refusing due to the fact that the conversion is really just not possible…
these are all a guess as I do not know your application at all…but these are coomon considderations in any swap

thanks for the info . I was doing some checking with the Nissan Exa (sister car to the pulsar)from Australia and since I’m swapping from a ca16de they say I can use all the same mounts from my engine for the ca18det no matter if its fwd or rwd . I’m thinking that the oil pan and other external parts should swap over as well . I seriously hope thats the case . Should have an engine by May 14 2008 . Wish me luck
