a friend of mine has a 99 civic ex, stock height, and has 16 inch wheels to put on it. he has a new set of 205/55r16 tires that he wants to put on them. i know that something in a lower series is ideal, but should those things fit without rubbing on one of these? i don’t want to waste my time mounting them up if they’re not gonna fit. ---

Tire Rack shows the optional 16" size as 205/45-16, so 10% difference of 205 mm is gonna hardly be noticeable I would think. ---

225/45 would be the ideal aspect ratio for 16’s on that car. Depends on which tires you are looking at, as not all manufacturers make all sizes. ---

they’ll fit fine. just depends if he wants that low profile of a tire. compared to what was on there before…
