I’m all for health-care reform. no doubt shit needs to change, but this bill is making hard working americans pay MORE $$ for less of a service. The change needs to start the top, ins companies, drug companies, salaries, etc. I don’t see how some of you people can actually believe this is good for the middle class, hard working american?? Was listening to free beer and hot wings this morning, someone called in and said “It is every American’s job to support and help out those less fortunate. blah blah blah” I was so appalled I had to change the channel. People are so fucking stupid, I can’t even deal with it. Had to rant here because I almost put my fist through the radio this morning. ---

Bingo. The bill helps a small percentage of people at the expense of everyone else. Make no mistake, a vast, vast, majority of people in the US will be paying more for this and they’re the ones that will not benefit. Ron - I read it 1959223 revisions ago, so things may have changed, but you’ll have a gov subsidized option that you’ll pay for that will be run through the state. There will be a tax credit for people that still cant afford it but dont count on it if you make decent money. ---

Nothing to do with the constitution. Is that be all/end all of what this country was built on? James Madison said, "We’ve staked our future in our ability to follow the 10 commandments with all our heart.” John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Abraham Lincoln said, “In regards to this great Book (the Bible), I have but to say it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Saviour gave to the world was communicated through this Book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are found portrayed in it.” What do many of the founding fathers and those came after them (and are regarded as great American figures) have in common? They were men who believed you couldn’t even call yourself an American if you subverted the word of God. In his farewell address, Washington said that you can’t have national morality apart from religious principle. Is that true? I think so. In the 40’s and 50’s, student problems were what? Chewing gum and talking? What about today? Rape and murder (Columbine? VA Tech?) are the trend. So. You tell me. This country is screwed no matter who runs it. It’s shot itself in the foot one to many times. Just be happy you live in a modern civilized world with opportunities and not some hell hole in eastern europe. ---
