# Adelphia question.

OK heres the idea/plan=thievery. I have regular cable and powerlink, lets say i cancel my reg cable BUT keep the powerlink and pay the insane $40 something dollars a month for it, THEN split the line from my computer (which i am doing now anyway) to run to the TV, MY question, would i stll get reg cable after cancelling the TV, but keeping the cable?
I think it would seeing as the wire running into the house is TV but the cable modem/surfboard desiphers the powerlink from the TV. -Any thoughts-discuss.

No… you wont get regular cable any more… unless they dont shut it off for some reason…
Television and Internet are on two different frequencies from what I understand… you can shut off one or the other and the other would still work…

They used to charge you 52 a month for jsut internet because the hsi goes on the same frequency as basic tv channels for the upstream. Your fine bro. I worked there for 4 years and they just change that last year. 40 bucks is going to be well worth the pricein the next few months, they are swithing to 6mb download cap.

my filters were removed, they didnt lock my box so its theyre fault 🙂
i put them back on tho, since cable tv sucks balls anyways. but it was good to copy some tv shows to the pc while they were off.

They cant filter the classic cable, its part of the hsi signal. You should be all good to get local stations. They used to charge and extra 12 to people who didnt have tv but now they just eat the charge.

yep… wont work kuz they filter at the line now… BUT… sometimes if you dont get a good enough signal they take off the filter at the pole…

You could always borrow someones white minivan, put a road cone down, throw a ladder up, climb up the pole and take the filter off. This way it looks like your suppose to be there and no ones the wiser!!
Or just wait til its dark!!!

You have to tell them that you are having issue with the cable modem and that it is slow/ loosing connection sometimes. I think our filter was removed because of the low signal.
