True, but it’s a better choice most of the time. The only time that I can think that I prefer braided over AQP is on turbo drain/water lines (braided takes the heat better). And of course there are applications where you have to use braided because a socketless that small is not available or practical.

I’m not sure if I’ve used the AQP but other pushlok hoses are perfectly fine for turbo return lines.

whats the pressure rating on pushloc stuff? And i am not talking the tubing, I mean poping off the barbs under pressure.

Depends on temp, but most are rated to the standard required min burst pressures(~180psi) for ambient. Some as high as 300psi. Pushlock certainly has it’s perks for ease of assembly and routing. Braided line you have to be cautious about what it’s routed near to avoid damaging things it touches(especially harnesses and other rubber lines), or clamp it so it doesn’t move.

Gotcah Adam. I guess I have to play with them more. Not doubting they are well designed, its just something about threads holding my hose ends on the hoses makes me sleep better at night than barbs.

Most stock fuel lines are just a barb setup with a quick release , barb setups are safe as hell .

Look closer st a reuseable hose end sometime. Hose os dtill just held on by friction of grooves in outer coupler 😉

You’ll physically tear the hose before you rip it off the barb (Aeroquip AQP anyway)

Often time the barbs hold so well you have to cut the hose off. If you used it you would see how well it holds and your doubts would be eliminated.

I’ve never had one fail, but they will start to split where they slide over the barb.

AQP=250 psi. I really like AQP because it’s ethanol/methanol compatible.
Aeroquip is nice.

yeah razorblade time. I dont have JoeJiggs or Slowmarro hands, so I find myself cutting slices in rad hoses and crap all the time, especially when they glue themselves to the plastic fittings.
I should get a -8 hose end and some tubing, put it together and see if i can hang off it from the rafter or somthing at the shop. lol
