Hey guys,

I was driving along and my CD deck randomly shut off on me. It’s kind of randomly done it in the past if I accellerate really hard, but it usually comes back on. This time however, it didn’t come back on, and I wasn’t accellerating really hard… It just shut off.

Now here’s the quirk, I think it was still getting power, but no display. I changed it for another CD deck known to work, and when I hit the eject button, the ejection motor comes on, but there’s no display, and no sound. Any ideas?

I know the deck is wired up correctly, and it was done with one of those harness kits.

Thanks in advance.

How is the deck grounded? to the harness? if so take it off the harness and attach it securely on a piece of metal either around the shifter or the metal brackets around the center console area. Could be just a bad/loose ground… has happened to me before turned out to be the ground.

Fixed it, it was actually a bogus ignition power connection. I just re wired the whole deck directly. The only part that’s actually attached to any of the wires from the stereo harness are the speaker wires.
