Yea that is because their illegal in Canada and are considered a prohibited and restricted weapon due to the fact that it is a replica MP5. The prohibited/restricted weapons list/booklet also goes on to talk about “Air Soft Guns” and states to be legal in Canada they must not be to scale (same size) and must be made of Clear Plastic so no one can mistake it for a real firearm and the list still continues from there.

So technically, or legally you should even be selling this or acknowledging the fact that you actually have it because the cops will treat it as if its a real gun simply due to the fact that it breaks the law and is classified as a prohibited/restricted weapon.

Mike, I need some clarification…

if by ignoring Jeff’s comment does that imply that SON approves and condones the sale of illegal items?

It’s not illegal.

Airsoft is definitely in a grey area, but as far as legislation and law goes right now, it is _not_ illegal. Trust me, I was in the sport actively for several years, and was up to date with the laws and legalities of it.

Regardless, the OP deleted his ad.

> Some devices commonly known as “air soft” guns may qualify as replica firearms. For example, following a thorough assessment and a review of ballistic studies, the Chief Scientist for Firearms at the RCMP’s Central Forensic Laboratory has determined that a line of electric guns, spring guns and gas-powered guns produced by the Tokyo Marui company are replica firearms because:
>
> ```
> * They closely resemble real firearms in size, colour, appearance and configuration, and
> * The projectiles that they fire are not likely to cause serious bodily injury.
>
> ```
>
> Again, various makes and models may have to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

So one example… ANYTHING from Tokyo Marui is illegal and others can be deemed illegal so to say they arent illegal is rather misleading.

i thought replicas cant fire projectiles at all?

the whole airsoft in canada thing is a huuuuge legal grey area…

i wouldn’t say it’s black and white illegal

i didnt see it as a big deal… it’s a moot point now, anyway, i guess
