-Spending your Friday and Saturday nights babysitting
-Going to children’s events and shows
-Car seats
-Cribs
-Diaper bags

It’s a catch 22.
you don’t know how much you will love your children because you dont want to take that chance.
a metaphor: kind of like how you may love your good job right now only because you have never had a great job. why put the extra work and take the professional risk of trying to get a great job when you can sit tight in your good job.
it’s just fear that you have, not pride or priority.
if you are fortunate enough to have a son, when he starts to learn how to spell and say his own name… when you see him clumsily grip a dull pencil and write that first letter on a scrap piece of paper while and when you can see him gradually figure out that the stuff he is saying and writing spells a word that means “HIM”… then come back to this thread and tell me how much of a man you were to not ever want to have a child so that you would never have to change diapers and watch shitty cartoons in support of that very moment.
and then know that if you are a REAL man then you make enough $$$ to keep your wife out of work, your children out of day care and she does all the shitty stuff and you basically just do the awesome stuff… bath time, story time, nap time, rough housing, airplane rides etc.
the guys that have blurred gender roles are in the boat they are in because they are afraid of being awesome enough for that great job… 🙂
lastly, changing diapers for random kids is gross… changing your own children’s diapers is not. but that’s another catch 22 i guess.

I have changed exactly one diaper for a kid that was not mine.
It’s awful. You overlook it when it’s yours because you are getting verification that the plumbing is functioning properly.
Another good time is when you see your son pee on a tree and he is 4’ away with an arc that peaks at 5.5’
It’s amazing how fast you go from having no idea what life with kids will be like, to having no idea what you would do without them.
Kids FTW if your man enough to raise them right.

I have nothing but respect for others and their life decisions. to think only my preference in what I decide to be the best option is ignorant. I am really happy for you and your family. Also for everyone else who has or does not have children in their decisions as well. I like little kids as much as anyone else but I have 0% desire to have any of my own so why should I? Obv I do not think nobody should have them hell everyone can have as many as they like and I hope they are happy and wish them the best. Gender roles, woman staying home that is just not something I am into at all. If I told my gf I wanted her to leave med school so she could harvest my offspring and be at home with them hahahahahaha oh boy i might just say it to her for the lulz. Anyhow congrats and im glad you enjoy your decision and wish you would have more respect for mine but most people don’t respect when people don’t share their opinions anyhow so meh.

If you are not gonna have kids, what is your purpose in life? You’re just gonna live and die and have nobody to remember you? Your parents put you on this earth, and obviously gave you a half way decent life. Why shouldn’t you pay that forward? That’s not directed at just one person, but to at anyone that decides not to have children…It’s selfish…That is what sex is for.
I don’t want kids right now…but I will have kids eventually

Having kids for the fun times, having your wife (prenup of course) or preferably significant other focus on serving you and keeping up her looks, and having hired help take care of the shitty jobs is all that is man.
