As for those of you who say I’m wining… whatever… I’m just irritated that the whole thing even happened. Why is it that the DAY your registration/license is suspended it’s in the Cops systems, but it takes 6 months for it to get removed out of the cops systems after the car/license is legal again. And as for it being worse, yes it could’ve been… but… WTF is adding on the light-bulb ticket… Personally my belief ; it’s because he knew the registration was legal but not updated; thus the reason he didn’t impound and arrest me; too much paperwork that would only cause him more work for something that is going to get thrown out anyways. But he wanted to at least get credit for the stop and make some $$ for the town with the fix-it ticket… the whole situation sucks, and is just causing me a headache for the next 3 days until I can get me car back. And if this were something legit, I wouldn’t be saying a word; if I screw up, then I fess up to it; AKA Speeding, or equipment tickets where it’s not a BS ticket. ---

i havent had a problem with the ws cops yet, i think i got pulled over by them maybe once and it was because he thought i didnt use a turn signal. but the suns glare off the reflector made it hard to see, so he let me go. now cheektowaga on the other hand. i just moved out here from west seneca and a cop followed me and pulled me over on my street. he said he ran my plates and my reg came up expired in '05. I think he was just bs’in me because i never let my reg expire, and the reg i have now doesnt expire til '07. then he wanted to check my copy just to make sure the vin matched ---

Maybe its the insurance company taking so long? Or an overall database issue. To call out a WS cops for that, what do you expect people to say? He gave him a break. The thread should maybe have been about how the cop let him off but our Legal System is fucked up and slow. Cops don’t change these things on the spot. EDIT\_ I do agree why he is mad, I just hate all the cop blaming. ---

The insurance issue was resolved the day I found out about it back in January, and the registration issue was taken care of Februrary 17th at the Cheektowaga DMV. ---

Your light bulb was written for a specific reason. How does it look if he goes into court and the judge asks the cop why he pulled you over and/or ran your plate. Judge asks “did you write him for it?” and if the cop says ‘no’ ? All credibilty in regards to the traffic stop is lost, and he looks like a fool in court. And as far as the time it takes to get info into and out of the computers, that’s a DMV thing, not a police one. Good luck getting any satifaction at that hell hole. ---

Here’s the deal… I got a hold of someone at the DMV and they screwed up; they took the plates and put the fine on the same car instead of taking the plates for the one and putting the fine on the other (2 cars with the insurance issue); thus the cavilier was suspended because the DMV FUCKED UP!!! nothing suprising there. The funny part is, when I called the DMV I got right through, and they admited it got screwed up, and would be fixed. They then tossed me on hold, and about 2 minutes later it disconnected on me and I’ve been on hols for about 45 minutes since… gotta love headsets and being on work’s phone… I can still do my work, post here, and still stay on hold with them. We’ll see how long it takes to get someone back on the phone. ---

The DMV is possibly the worst place to deal with. Good luck. Its now 2PM and I wouldn’t be suprised if you havn’t finished with them yet. lol ---

Oh no, that’s not the end… 3 hours at the cheektowaga, and $176 that might get refunded later… I got to make a trip to the WS PD to get a form so I could get my plates, then another 45 minutes at the WS DMV… and now the DMV shit is done with… I swear these people are absolut assholes and think/have to always be right about everything… Now I’ve just got court tonite.
