# am i f\*\*ked?

i just dropped my laptop, and now the screen is all black and white. the screen isn’t broken, but it looks like the liquid crystals are. it looks shattered underneath the screen.
can this be fixed?

broken screen i think they can be replaced but itll cost
edit: i just looked some up on ebay and they dont seem that bad in price

It depends on your make and model of the computer…
Some places like dell have an accidental warranty… If you have that warranty great you are covered if not you are pretty fucked…
What kind of laptop is this btw and do you remember what the resolution was?
Lots of times you can find the screen on like ebay for 40-50 bucks and have someone swap it out for you… hell you could do something like that yourself it takes very little knowledge of computers… just a few screws and you are set to go.

screen is broken. on a macbook pro, that can be as much as $1150… not sure on your computer but chances are you’ll be better off selling it for parts and getting a new one if you don’t have coverage either through homeowners or some 3rd party warranty.

A. It’s broken
B. It could be replaced
C. It might just be cheaper to get a new laptop unless it’s under warranty, in most cases warranty won’t cover it
D. You find a used replacement/parts laptop cheap and swap them.
