The forward bricks were pre-existing with a good base. We just had to re-morter them so they wouldn’t continue crumbling. Then in the middle of the base the previous idiot decided that a couple 2x4s attached to the floor and sitting on the ground would be adequate support. Needless to say they were completely rotted out which was making the floor so unstable. For those we poured 5 new concrete footings. Basically the flowers you see there now will be the only bushes. There will be some “filling” flowers put in between those to add some color, and some rose bushes will be put in at the very end.
