# Another one of those "OMG what should I buy threads"

**This is why this thread is in OT… but MAYBE…just maybe, I may get some decent input from some people.**
The bike will be selling soon, the daily will be up for sale as soon as it does… and I am currently in the market for a new daily/fun toy.
I pretty much have my mind set on an obd1 e36 m3.
My plans are to find a super clean unmolested one and hold on to it for a while, have fun modding it, then go all out(Ie:track toy) when I can afford a new daily.
**OK this is where you knuckleheads come in…** I would like to spend no more than 15k but could stretch my budget a bit. Give me reasons not to buy the M for another car, or is this a sensible choice?

Ever thought of a 318 with an M3 swap?
PS. 5th gear =\> 2nd gear = E36 M3s don’t like.

I could not agree more.
However, they are much harder to find and pull a premium. Plus with this still being a dd for some time, I would hate to rack miles on such a beautiful car…

I don’t think a swapped 318 would be any less DD-able than an m3

I guess it depends on what I get my hands on and who did the swap.
I am certainly in no position to do it myself, and you know how it goes buying something like that…

i have a fully swapped 328is M3.
pretty much anything that makes an M an M over a 3 series was swapped over.
It’s pretty dirty (needs some body work,front bumper and heater core replaced)
I’d sell for the right price if interested.
i already completed some of the maintenance necessities…it’s all good to drive.
EDIT: there is nothing, SUB 20k that gives me a smile driving quite like an e36 m3.
it’s not fast, but every time I get on a curvy road, it’s so much fun.
