Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. Two hour drive from Pittsburgh and a lot of nice two-lane country roads to cruise along.

3rd. Use that for everything. There are tons of beautiful cabins down through WV. Depends on how far you want to drive. The area around Snowshoe is awesome for cabin getaways, especially if you want to actually leave the cabin once in a while to do something (depends on how long you plan to stay). Totally secluded in the middle of nowhere, with great mountain views, but with all the comforts you’d wish for… and you can hit the resort in a short drive for a night out or a day of skiing.
