# any one know osha regs?

for machine shops.
our parent company was nice enough to let us keep
or machinist. hes the only one in the shop.
is that even legal?
we are looking into a “ive fallen and cant get up” type
device to let sombody know that hes fallen and cant get up…
hes a machinist… so i figure that if he loses an arm, he’ll just go to the sink and rinse the stump.
any thoughts/info?

any first 1st alert arranged within the Company’s site safety method would be enough. Like having a cell phone with 911 capabilities on the worker… This isn’t OSHA regulated, but covered by the “general duty clause”.
he’ll have to look into CFR 1910 regulations

We do have more than 7 people.
he has been the only one in the shop for a while now…
but now i’m a safety rep. :lol:
we dont want him laying dead for hours when he should be working

edit: we have a separate room for 2 CNC’s and other shop equip.
hes the only one in that room.
occasionally he gets visits to drop off rework etc…
but there are days where he will not see anyone for hours.

Just go in there and tell him to walk it off and get back to work if anything happens.
