# any suggestions?

I have a 89 with single cam used for oval track racing.The car works good for a bit then it seems to shut off for about 5 seconds then goes good again then it shuts off and so on…air/fuel guage says good at first then after it does this reads very lean and i’m getting real frustrated with it.If anyone has any reasonable suggestion of what might be causing this I would appreciate your suggestions.

pop a fuel pressure gauge on her and see if it drops when it happens. the proper pressure is 33 psi if im not mistaken. if it does drop you know its a fuel delivery problem. start by changing the fuel filter then check your pump and injectors. hope this helps
