Getting set to install a Wilwood prop valve in my car…

Unfortunately the Wilwood is designed for SAE flare fittings and my brake lines are 10x1.0 metric.

I searched everywhere and I can’t find a proper adapter so the other option is to flare the existing brake lines to SAE to eliminate the need for an adapter.

If there is anyone here who has the equipment and is very confident in their ability to flare two ends of brake line to accept the valve, please reply here or PM me.

The brake lines that need to be flared are pretty easy to access. The yellow boxes show the lines that connect to the prop valve- one from the Master Cylinder, the other to the rear brake lines. See below:

Brake lines aren’t something I want to experiment flaring on so I’m hoping someone with experience doing this can lend a hand…

Thanks!!

Cool, if you have the tools and have done it before, let me know how you want to go about this…

Here are the impossible to source NPT to metric adapters… 1/8 NPT to 10x1.0 M

Just so I’m 100% clear, you need a 10x1.00 female to 1/8 NPT male adapter?

If it is 10x1 female to 1/8 male, they have to be custom machined. I remember reading about it on Honda-Tech. There are a variety of 1/8 female to 10x1 male like you have pictured… but if it’s what I’m thinking, I have a suggestion. This Earl’s fitting ![http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/ear-981603erl_w.jpg](http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/ear-981603erl_w.jpg) to a -3AN tube nut and sleeve. That way you only need one flare and there’s very very little that can go wrong.

You’re right, in my search I came across a couple threads on honda-tech, probably same one you read… It does not seem to be commercially available. BTW it is a 10x1 female with the 1/8 NPT male (to go into the prop valve itself).

Let me know if you end up going with the Earl’s fittings, I have an AN flare tool you can use, or I can flare them for you.

Thanks bud… So you’re saying the left side of that adapter is 1/8" NPT and will fit into the prop valve? Then the portion with the chamfer matches up with the -3 AN tube nut an sleeve? Could you show me a pic of the tube nut/sleeve so I can get an idea how it works? Please clarify, thanks…

How much are these fittings? Based on the location of the valve and lines as you see at the top of the thread, is it fairly straightforward? Sorry for all the questions…

Tube Nuts- $3.25 Tube sleeves-$1.75 Adapters-$4.50 so $9.50 for all that, then 10.95 for handling (stupid Summit flat rate). However, I might be placing an order from Summit soon, and I will include these if you throw me like $2 for shipping on top of the cost of the stuff.

I made this picture to show how to hook up and AN hose, but instead of the hose and hose end, obviously you have the prop valve
