If it was me i’d bring all my reciepts and show all my time i’ve put in the car. Then i would say “look, this car was a pile of shit when i got it, i have XX time in repairs and XX monies. If you want me to pay tax on a higher value i would gladly do so if you pay for the repairs it took to get the car to the better condition.” ---

tax evasion is a federal crime. no thank you. NYS cant get me on the rape hammer. my toyota was a “gift” and GTI i got raped at original purchase. the hogbeast at the DMV tried to hit me with tax on it when i registered it in NY because she didnt comprehend english. i already own the vehicle, why would i sell it to myself. Skank. ---

im pretty much going to give up, i dont have documentation and i guess we now live in an eastern european or latin american country where it’s guilty until proven innocent. im going to go to my bank and get statements and hopefully, they will lower the price i owe. pretty insane, oh well. i just dont have time to fight it with school and work, and really dont have any way to “prove” what i paid. ---

maybe, yea. EDit: prin tout the kbb stuff. anything you can print and bring with you to support you is going to help. If you really think about it, they don’t have a leg to stand on unless the person you bought it from says you paid much more than you said you paid. I’m sure they are putting the squeeze on to see what they can get out of people. Don’t back down man. ---
