E.C.C Sent me an info packet about their Cisco certification classes, has anyone taken them there? What advantages are the class besides obvious reasons then getting a book and learning it on your own. What sort of jobs around here is it good for? Any info would be great. ---

Get the book read it, take the certs, save money from going to class ---

im actually verry interested in the cert program, but havent been able to find anything local. Would love more info. ---

CCNA isn’t something you are going to pick up by just reading a book…well most people…and for all the cert haters you learn a ton of fundamentals taking a CCNA class. CCNA/CCNP are both respected certs…will def help you get a job. If you take the class and want to get the cert download an ripped off copy of the router simulator… ---

The class is usually taught by Jim Stantz. Super nice guy and very helpful. The class is held in the Telecom wing of ECC south, by the health office. I took it back in Spring of 03. From what I have heard from a well known local high school cisco instructor, CCNA 1+2 are much easier now compared to when I took them. ---
