last october i had to drive to new hampshire to pick up a hovercraft. i was working b shift, had monday off regularly, and took a personal day sunday so i could leave early sunday morning. I was unable to get any sleep saturday night, left at 4 in the morning and drove to manchester. I spent a few hours helping raoul move his snowblower out of his basement and driving the hovercraft on lakes near his house. When I left there I had been awake for about 36 hours. I struggled to make it back into new york and almost lost it many times sundaynight/monday morning on the 90. I will never drive that tired again. I felt like i was hallucinating or that i was in a dream. I just wanted to get home so badly i kept driving.

The same thing happened a year before driving home from wisconsin. The truck I just bought had no radio and a nice, soothing, constant hum to the engine, i dozed off several times. There was an accident in chicago with traffic stopped dead for a few hours, i woke up to see the road ahead clear wondering how long i sat there as everyone else pulled away.

Definetly pull over and sleep instead of driving tired.

some times i just close um for a half second then im like WTF are you doing wake up!!.. but one time i was driving my realy deal army hummer from the armory in buffalo out to camp smith ( near NY city) and it was a long boring ride. hummers are really loud inside but the noise is kinda soothings and gets me tired sooo i was going about 75 in this big bitch with the windows down and got tired. I closed my eyes for a second… then for some reason my body scared myself to wake me up. Probably one of the worst things i coulda fell asleep behind the wheel in because if i woulda hit a car they would have been done.

After that i put some headphones on and kept drinking water to keep myself occupied since my buddy crawled into the rear of the truck to sleep himself

Well, the guy driving my car fell asleep at the wheel. Lets just say it was a hell of a way to wake up- for both of us.

i used to do it everynight commin home from my gf’s house like 3 years ago
5th gear cruize on, zzzzzzzzz, ohh shit… ok im good, cruize, zzzzzzz… oh shit…etc

i remember this one time i was driving JEG somewhere, and told him to stay awake to make sure i do, he says ok, i look over 5 min later and hes pasted out, 5 min after that i passed out, started goin off the road, the vibration usally wakes me up (from stones/shity road/grass/bumps/sidewalk/shoulder) we both wake up, i get back on the road, we look over at eachother and start laughing i yell ta him “asshole u almost killed me”.

now im to the point where i dont really need sleep, i have to force my self to sleep.
i can go 30+ hours no prob.
