I need to try a gasket to get my cheapo downpipe v band to seal better. Anyone have a 3" V Band gasket I could buy off them? Thanks. ---

They make gaskets for v band’s? Never had a problem with them leaking. - - - Updated - - - You sure your mating surfaces are 100% flat? Get a straight edge out and check. Might just need a little grinding work. ---

Yea, no gaskets for v bands. Maybe try to loosen down stream connections so the v band joint can pull together straight ---

They make gaskets for vbands…but they’re for intake/cold sides not the hot side parts. ---

They do make them for hot side parts. I’m assuming this means no one has one lying around. ---

I think the trick here is to weld the vband flanges on while being clamped together by the v band itself. When I do It this way I’ve never had leaks in an exhaust vband ---

Well this was a cheap downpipe. Not super worried as this car is nothing special. I think with a good vibrant clamp and some exhaust permatex I can make this seal good. ---

Put a vibrant clamp on and did a better job lining it up and it took care of the bigger of the two leaks. Next I need to get a better clamp for where the downpipe meets the catback.
