# Anyone here a HVAC technician?

The funny part is, the majority older A/C units used to be self-contained- i.e, non-split-system.

Pretty much tie into your existing ductwork and away you went. Most units now are split system, where you tie in your indoor coil in the same housing as your furnace and the outdoor coil goes somewhere nearby, outside.
